ABOUT LAYIA Layia is a former model and a devoted mother of two young children. She has recently discovered a passion for gardening, nurturing her own allotment plot with great care. In addition to gardening, she delights in baking and traveling. Layia adeptly balances her time between working full-time in banking and continuing her studies to become a qualified hairdresser. Layia’s passion for learning doesn’t stop there. She has recently completed “Formulation School,” founded by award-winning Uhuru Botanicals' Neo Chatyoka. Like many other women from underrepresented backgrounds, Layia has been equipped, empowered, and educated with the expertise to formulate and produce cosmetic products. Out of over 200 women, she was shortlisted to join Neo's Formulation Academy in partnership with Innovate UK. Though naturally introverted, Layia’s infectious smile lights up any room, and she loves to catch a vibe or enjoy a likkle dance with anyone she meets, bringing joy to those around her. Layia believes that a Miss Caribbean Ambassador should embody confidence and elegance while being driven, well-spoken, and well-mannered. Such an ambassador should possess a positive mindset and be ready to empower and uplift women. Additionally, she should be capable of bridging the gap between the mature and younger generations, fostering unity and understanding. Layia also believes that a Miss Caribbean Ambassador must stand tall, hold her head high, and wear the crown and title with pride, representing the Caribbean with grace and dignity.
